2002 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
RAVENS GET THE JOB DONE:
MIGHTY
'MISS SHUTS DOWN AT GOAL LINE

Essex
offence still pounded the ball on the ground.
The stiffling Ravens defence kept the box shut
and forced
Mississauga to go to the air for big plays in
order to move the ball.
The
Essex defence held the Mississauga
Warriors to 7 points through the entire
game and fought hard to hold a 14-7 lead
through three quarters until the Warriors
made a last minute comeback drive and
scored, making it 14-13.
With the clock stopped and just seconds
remaining, the Warriors attempted the
convert and the snap was fumbled.
The holder picked up the ball and
attempted a pass that was picked
off by Ravens' Steve Fantetti.
Mississauga's
last chance to get the ball back was an on-side kick-off with
20 seconds remaining, which was caught
by the Ravens, who then kneed the next
play to win it all.
A
tremendous season, Champs!
Congratulations!
