Andy Fantuz has just signed for another two years with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.  In his first 18 games in the CFL he made 30 catches for 408 yards and 4 TD's - three receiving and one rushing.
August 2006:  Scout.com Looks at Brian Bulcke
Here is an excerpt from Scout.com regarding their top rookie standouts for the 2006 season: "Brian Bulcke was the least publicized, regarded and recruited of the quartet, but eyeballing him in person this month was revealing.  The Canadian is built like a brick house, and that sentiment of surprise was echoed by a lot of people on the team.  Defensive linemen are even more difficult than running backs to evaluate in a no-pads environment, so we are anxious to see what he does when contact goes live in August".
July 2006:  Thomas Whitfield inducted into the OVFL Hall of Fame
Thomas Whitfield who now plays for the Montreal Alouettes, via Syracuse, is another Raven inductee into the OVFL Hall of Fame.  Congratulations to Thomas, who was an electric force in the Ravens arsenal.  He joins Oshiomogho Atogwe (2005), Andy Fantuz (2005), and Coach Mills (2005) in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame/OVFL Division.

November 2005:  Fantuz Makes 1st Team

November 2005:  Fantuz Named OUA MVP
Andy Fantuz has just been named MVP of the OUA (breaking every record in the books might have something to do with it).  He is also on the list of nominees for the CIS Hec Crighton Award which will be announced December 1st, 2005.  Good Luck, Andy!
October 2005:  Fantuz BREAKS CIS
All-Time Reception Record

Andy Fantuz has broken every record that can be broken at wide receiver...
Congratulations to Raven Alumnist Andy Fantuz, of the Univ. of Western Ontario Mustangs who broke the CIS record for Career Catches  with his 5 receptions in a 50-29 win over Queens.  His record of 189 catches broke the old record by three (previously held byLaurier's Stefan Ptaszek 1990-1994).
September 2005:  Fantuz BREAKS CIS
All-Time TD Record

Andy Fantuz does it again... Already holding the CIS yardage record, Andy has become the leading touchdown receiver in CIS history.  He broke the record on September 24th vs the Waterloo Warriors after tying the record with a 4-TD display that gave the 'Stangs a come-from-behind win over McMaster.

London Free Press Article #1 (pdf)

London Free Press Article #2 (pdf)
Andy is used to making front page news in London, but his 4-touchdown display against McMaster on Sepember 17 sent the town reeling. Not only did his 4-straight touchdown receptions rally the 'Stangs from a 28-3 deficit to win 55-31 but he tied the CIS record for TD's to put him in position to break it the following week in Waterloo. Josh Starr, another former Raven also scored the last TD of the game as part of the Mustangs "Raven Bookends" in the receivers arsenal.  A company is actually manufacturing bobble-head dolls in Andy's image and they will be selling them at home games in London!
July 2005:  Atogwe, Fantuz Inducted into
OVFL Hall of Fame

Congratulations to Oshiomogho Atogwe and Andy Fantuz who were inducted into the OVFL Hall of Fame along with Coach Mills. They are recognized for their excellence in the OVFL and accomplishments.

another CIS Record

Andy Fantuz of the University of Western Ontario Mustangs grabbed nine passes for 162 yards, pushing his CIS-leading season total to 995 yards and his three-year career total to an incredible 3,200. The Chatham native and former Essex Raven surpasses former McMaster Marauder Ryan Janzen, who previously held the record with 3,187 (1996-2000).

September 2004:
Andrew Brown makes Interception/TD against
Georgetown - LaFayette on a roll.

Even though LaFayette turned the ball over 6 times in Georgetown's scoring territory, Defensive End Andrew Brown and the Big L's defense held their opponents to just two field goals for their second straight win this season.  Andrew Brown made the interception/touchdown in a 17-6 victory over Georgetown, setting up a game against Princeton that could become LaFayette's best season start (3-0) since 1988.

April 2004:
Bill Moysiuk Makes CIS All-Star Team

After finishing one of their strongest seasons yet, the Windsor Lancers have recognized Bill Moysiuk as a big part of their success, and named Bill their Defensive Player of the Year.  Bill was also selected on the CIS All-Star Team this spring.  Congratulations, Bill!
Nov. 2003:
Chad Santo Impresses Michigan Tech

After finishing his first season as a red shirt for the Michigan Tech Huskies, Chad Santo worked hard on the Scout Team and was named Scout Team Offensive Player of the Year.  Hopefully, this could be a fast track to seeing some game time next season!  Good luck, Chad!
Nov. 2003:
Andy Fantuz All-Canadian Second Straight Year

After breaking Canadian University records all over the place and voted CIS Rookie of the Year in 2002, Andy Fantuz of the Western Mustangs has again been chosen as 1st Team All-Canadian for 2003.  Although the 'Stangs found themselves vulnerable in a few areas this season, no doubt Andy will be a major cog in building up the 2004 machine.
Oct. 2003: Thomas Whitfield
Big East Player of the Week
(Week of Sept. 27)

Thomas Whitfield
Syracuse
Orangemen
Sophomore cornerback Thomas Whitfield tied his career-best with eight tackles, including one and one half for a loss of six yards, in Syracuse’s 34-7 victory against Toledo, earning the BIG EAST conference Defensive Player of the Week Award for his effort. Whitfield also had one-half sack, for a loss of three yards, and one pass breakup. Whitfield and the rest of the SU defense held Toledo to seven points, which was the Rockets’ lowest scoring game since a 10-7 loss to Eastern Michigan in 1998.

The start against Toledo was the second of Whitfield’s career. He also had eight tackles in his first career start in SU’s victory against Central Florida last week. Whitfield has 19 tackles this season, including 10 solo stops.

Whitfield and the Orangemen (3-1 overall, 0-0 BIG EAST) begin the BIG EAST portion of their schedule on October 11 at fourth-ranked Virginia Tech. Syracuse returns to the Carrier Dome on October 18 to host Boston College
Nov. 2003:
Chris Cowan Makes Vanier Cup Appearance

Chris Cowan, who played on the Ravens first Championship Team in 1998 and won the World Jr. Title with Team Canada played for the St. Mary's Huskies in the 2003 Vanier Cup. Although the Huskies failed to win their third straight Vanier Cup with the 14-7 loss to Laval, Chris and the defending champs played well in the hard-fought 2003 nail-biter.
Nov. 2003:
Oshiomogho Atogwe Stanford's #1 Tackler
For 2nd Straight Year

Oshiomogho Atogwe, who was the #1 tackler at Stanford last year has done it again in 2003, and the season isn't over yet...  O.J. was the top interceptor of the OVFL when he was with the Ravens, and that was for only 4 games - he was absent the first half of the season with Canada's national basketball team!
FANTUZ GETS CIS
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD (2002)

Andy Fantuz was given the CIS Rookie of the Year award for 2002 and was officially named 1st Team All-Canadian by the CIS following his record breaking entry into Canadian University Sports with the  University of Western Ontario Mustangs this season:

overtaking record holder Ryan Janzen of McMaster.

11 catches for 243 yards and 3 TD's.

RAVENS ALUMNI SOUTH OF THE BORDER:

Thomas Whitfield (2001)
Watch for #29 when Syracuse is playing next on T.V. You'll have to be quick, because it will be a speeding blur from one side of the screen to the other.  That's right...the silver bullet from the Ravens' revolver is getting game time at defensive corner and is still exciting to watch!  Thomas has dressed for every game and has seen some action in his rookie year as an Orangeman.

Oshiomogho Atogwe (1999)
Oshiomogho, who starred in last year's Bowl game, is the quick, on-the-spot defensive back for Stanford.  In just 2 games he logged 8 tackles and 1 assist, and currently ranks #2 in defense on the team.  Watch for Stanford #21 on T.V. By the fifth game, he led the team in defence with 17 tackles, and got a quarterback sack on a nationally televised game...we were all watching.

Ryan Tobin (2002)
Ryan Tobin is at Grand Valley State in Michigan.  Grand Valley State is the #1 ranked school in the country at Division II.  Ryan likes it at the Valley, and it's close to home, too.

Andrew Brown (2001)
Andrew is #50 for Lafayette University in the Patriot league in Pennsylvania. Andrew likes to e-mail us now and then, and now, with this page, he has a forum to say hello to everybody.

Jermaine Jones (2001)
Jermaine Jones has flown the farthest south at Mississippi Valley State and is generating some heat of his own in the hot weather down there.

Chad Santo (2002)
Chad Santo is enjoying the benefits of a full-ride scholarship south of the border, and is still only a couple of hours drive from home. Michigan Tech has beefed up their line with Chad's strength and tenacity.

Steve Fantetti (2003)
Steve Fantetti is the second Raven to sign a full-ride contract with Michigan Tech, and now completes the first double-Raven placement at an American University.

Brian Bulcke (2005)
Brian Bulcke is the second Raven to sign a full-ride contract with Stanford, and is the second double-Raven placement at an American University.
